SUMMER 1951 - JERSEY MARINE, NEATH
3 or 4 PM.
A 9-year-old girl was at the front gate of her terraced house in School Road, Jersey Marine. She was on her own. The girl spotted an object in the sky which she described as a huge orange ball about 300 feet up, "like the sun, but bigger," moving over her, on a northward course from the direction of Swansea Bay. She said it had a clear edge to it. It continued directly overhead, without any sound over 'the rocks', the rocky hill which lies immediately to the north of the village, moving out of sight in the vicinity of the huge BP Llandarcy oil refinery. She went indoors to tell her mother.
